Family policies
In the pool, and watching
An instructor is in the water beside every swimmer. If it helps, a parent or caregiver can come in too, and we plan that at the placement visit. A parent or caregiver stays at the pool during every class. Lessons are no substitute for adult supervision.
What to wear and bring
A swimsuit or a swim shirt, whichever your swimmer likes. Tie long hair back. Bring a towel, a change of clothes and anything that helps, such as goggles, a swim cap or ear plugs. We provide boards, noodles and belts.
Watching class
Parents, caregivers, brothers and sisters can watch from the chairs along the deck. Please keep strollers, bags and walkers back from the ramp, and keep brothers and sisters with an adult while a class is in the water.
When to keep your child home
Please keep your swimmer home with a fever, a stomach bug or anything that spreads, and tell us so we can plan a make-up. If your swimmer is tired or having a hard day, tell us at the door and we will shorten the class and rest more.
Closures for weather and holidays
We text families when the pool closes for weather, repairs or a holiday. A class missed because the pool was closed is made up in the same session.
Leaving the program
Please tell us two weeks before you stop, so we can offer your place to the next family on the waitlist. We will talk through a session that is already under way.
Screens and phones
Please keep phones away from the water's edge. Photos and video of other families' swimmers are not allowed on the deck.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
